Each month we feature a different local cultural attraction on our website. Walton residents can visit the featured attraction of the month with their family members, and Walton will reimburse up to 90% of the ticket price for admission!

ATLANTA 

 

JULY
Atlanta History Center

Located on 33 acres in the heart of historic Buckhead, the Atlanta History Center invites you to explore Georgia’s past through award-winning exhibitions that include two historic houses, including the 1928 Swan House and the 1860’s Smith Family Farm, Centennial Olympic Games Museum, the Goizuetta Gardens and the Kenan Research Center. The all-inclusive admission ticket includes tours of the Margaret Mitchell House, birthplace of Gone With the Wind, located just five miles from the campus.
Open Monday-Saturday, 10:00 am – 5:30 pm; Sunday Noon-5:30 pm.
Admission: $16.50 for adults; Students 13+ and Seniors 65+ $13; Youth 4-12, $11; Children under 4 free.

Fernbank Museum of Natural History

From the largest dinosaurs ever discovered to the biggest movie screen in Atlanta, Fernbank Museum offers a world of adventure for all ages. Immersive, hands-on exhibitions make science, culture and natural history come alive in a big way!
Open Monday-Saturday, 10 am – 5 pm; Sunday Noon-5 pm.
Admission: Combination Museum and one IMAX ticket: Adults $26; Students and Seniors $24; Children 3-12 $22, Children 2 and under free.

EdVenture Children’s Museum

Experience the joy of learning and discover at EdVenture Children’s Museum in Columbia, SC. A hands-on experience, EdVenture provides children, families and teachers with the opportunity to immerse themselves in dynamic, diverse exhibits, programs and events. Morris Museum of Art

The Morris Museum of Art is the first museum dedicated to the art and artists of the American South. The collection includes holdings of nearly 5,000 paintings, works on paper, photographs and sculptures dating from the late 18th century to the present.
Open Tuesday-Saturday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm; Sunday, Noon- 5:00 pm.
Admission: Adults $5, Youth 3-17 and Seniors, $3 Children 12 and younger free.
