Each month we feature a different local cultural attraction on our website. Walton residents can visit the featured attraction of the month with their family members, and Walton will reimburse them 90% of the ticket price for admission!


Fernbank Museum of Natural History

From the largest dinosaurs ever discovered to the biggest movie screen in Atlanta, Fernbank museum offers a world of adventure for all ages. Immersive, hands-on exhibitions make science, culture and natural history come alive in a big way!

Open Monday – Saturday, 10 am – 5 pm; and Sunday noon – 5 pm.
Combination Museum admission and one imax film: Adults: $26; Students and seniors: $24; Children 3-12: $22; Children 2 and under free ( ticket required ).

Zoo Atlanta

Zoo Atlanta inspires value and preservation of wildlife through a unique mix of education and outdoor family fun. From well-known native wildlife to critically endangered species on the brink of extinction, the Zoo offers memorable close encounters with more than 1,000 animals from around the world. Zoo Atlanta is proud to be one of only four zoos in the U.S. that giant pandas call home.

Open Monday – Friday, 9:30 am – 5:30 pm; Saturday, Sunday and holidays 9:30 am – 6:30 pm.

   The Morris Museum of Art

The Morris Museum is the first museum dedicated to the art and artists of the American South. With over 5,000 paintings, works on paper, photographs and sculptures dating back to the 18th century, the Morris Museum is a must-see.
Open Tuesday – Saturday, 10:00- 5:00 and Sunday, Noon-5:00.
Located at One 10th Street, Augusta.
Admission: Adults $5, Youth 13-17 $3, Children 12 and under free.


Riverbanks Zoo and Garden, Columbia, SC

Home to more than 2,000 magnificent and fascinating animals and one of the nation’s most beautiful and inspiring botanical gardens, the lush 170 -acre site features dynamic natural habitat exhibits, scenic river views, spectacular valley overlooks and significant historic landmarks.
Open Monday-Friday, 9:00-5:00; Saturday and Sunday, 9:00-6:00.
