What Is the Adventure Center?
Walton Communities is pleased to provide this unique amenity to our residents. The Adventure Center is a 3,000 square foot building designed with children in mind. It provides a FREE every day after-school enrichment program to children Kindergarten through 5th grade, as well as a summer camp program exclusively to children who are residents of our community. The program is sponsored by and under the direction of the Atlanta Youth Project, a non-profit, faith-based organization.

Purpose:
The vision of the Atlanta Youth Project is to establish relationships in urban and suburban neighborhoods to provide the support, resources and encouragement necessary to build vibrant communities. The Adventure Center seeks to provide programs that will enhance children's growth as well as build their character through positive and interactive activities.

Facilities:
The Adventure Center offers some of the finest facilities in after-school programs anywhere. Each Adventure Center is in excess of 3,000 square feet and features the latest in classroom equipment and technology. The Adventure Center is located right here in our community, adjacent to a beautiful park and playground. Parents will appreciate the fully-equipped computer lab with the latest educational software, plus a separate children and youth library. Activity rooms are filled with toys, arts and crafts supplies, TV's and DVD players, ping pong and foosball tables. Each Adventure Center also has a full-sized kitchen where delicious after-school snacks and lunches for the summer camp program are prepared.

Activities:
Activities at the Adventure Center are not random. Lesson plans are specifically designed to incorporate science, history, math, language arts and other important subjects into every activity. Themes include many interesting topics. One week, children may be rocketing through outer space, while another week they are exploring the pyramids of ancient Egypt. The children learn by doing and experiencing...and that equals fun!
